Pupils Celebrate Record Exam Results

Shavington High School in the Community

Shavington High School is celebrating its best results ever with 63% of pupils achieving 5A*-C including English and Mathematics. This represents a 13% increase on last year's results.

83% achieved 5A*-C and a third of the year group achieved three or more A-A*.

Carol White, Headteacher, said, " Everyone did extremely well- more than 97% of the year achieved 5  GCSE passes, and at least one C grade. The professionalism of the staff, motivation of the pupils and support of the parents all came together to bring about a tremendous set of results."

Special congratulations go to Keren Whittaker, who achieved 9A*s and 2As, and Calum Phenton, who achieved 5A*s, 6As and 3Bs.

"Shavington High School is pleased to announce that Trust Status was achieved on 28th August 2011, when the school formally registered the Shavington Learning Community with Company’s House.

We now enjoy a formal partnership with South Cheshire College and the Co-operative College. An official launch is planned for later in the term. Former pupils, parents and staff will be welcome to join as members, in addition to the local and school community, when the school opens its membership in 2012.
As the school celebrates the best results it has ever achieved, we are looking forward to extending opportunities for every pupil, through our trust status."
